XXXII Edition Tokyo Olympics 2020: 

The Summer Tokyo Olympics 2020 was Originally scheduled to take place from 24th July to 9th August 2020 but the event was postponed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After some time, now XXXII edition Tokyo Olympics games 2020 will be held at Tokyo city of Japan from 23rd July 2021 to 8th August 2021.

This is the first time that the Olympic Games have been postponed and rescheduled, rather than canceled. The Summer Paralympics will be held between 24th August and 5th September 2021, 16 days after the completion of the Olympics.

A total of 11,326 athletes from 206 countries are to participate in 33 sports in Tokyo Olympics 2021. Naomi Osaka (Tennis Player ) light the Olympic torch in Tokyo Olympic 2021.

  • Weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu opened India’s 1st medals on Saturday 24th July as she bagged a silver in the Women’s 49kg category at Tokyo Olympics 2021.

 

  • PV Sindhu won Bronze in Women’s singles badminton at Tokyo Olympics 2021.

       PV Sindhu in Women’s singles badminton to claim two medals at the two consecutive Olympic games 2016 Rio Olympics (Silver)and Bronze in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

  • Ravi Kumar Dahiya wins a Silver medal for India in men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling.
  • India Men’s Hockey Team won the Bronze at Tokyo Olympics 2021.

  • Neeraj Chopra won the Gold Medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in javelin throw and set the reigning javelin throw Olympic record with 87.58 meters on 7th August 2021.

        Neeraj Chopra is the only Indian who won the gold medal in javelin throw in Olympics.
