States and Capital of India are the static General Knowledge(GK) which is an important part of General Awareness section for all competitive examination like IBPS, RRB, SBI, SSC, Railway, CTET, UPSC, RBI, NICL, State Exams. In this article, provide all alphabetic list of  State and their Capital of India. There are 28 states and 9 union territories in the country.

Each state and union territory has an administrative, legislative and judicial capital. All the offices of the executive government are situated in administrative capital. A legislative capital is the one where the state assembly convenes. A judicial capital is the one where the territorial high courts are located.

Two union territories Puducherry and Delhi, and All the states have are headed by a Chief Minister who is elected for a term of five years. Other union territories are directly ruled by the Central government.
