Key Points of The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2022)
- The nine-day festival featured 280 films from 79 countries.
- The opening film of the festival was Austrian Director Dieter Berner’s film Alma and Oskar and the closing film was the Polish film ‘Perfect Number’, directed by Krzysztof Zanussi.
- France was the ‘Spotlight’ country this year.
- As many as 25 feature films and 19 non-feature films from India were showcased in the ‘Indian Panorama’ section, while 183 films will be a part of the international section.
- Spanish film ‘I Have Electric Dreams’ directed by Valentina Maurel winning the prestigious ‘Golden Peacock’ for the best film of the festival.
- Vahid Mobasseri, lead actor of ‘No End’, was honoured with Silver Peacock for Best Actor (Male)
- Daniela Marin Navarro, lead Actor of Best Film “I Have Electric Dreams” is honoured with Silver Peacock for Best Actor (Female).

Golden Peacock (Best Film):
The award carries a cash prize of ₹40 lakh (US$50,000) shared equally between the director and producer. The director will receive the ‘Golden Peacock’ and a certificate in addition to the cash prize. The Producer will receive a certificate in addition to the cash.

Silver Peacock:
- Best Director: Silver Peacock, certificate and a cash prize of ₹15 lakh (US$19,000)
- IFFI Best Actor Award (Male): Silver Peacock, certificate and a cash prize of ₹10 lakh (US$13,000).
- IFFI Best Actor Award (Female): Silver Peacock, certificate and a cash prize of ₹10 lakh (US$13,000).
- Special Jury Award: Silver Peacock, certificate and a cash prize of ₹15 lakh (US$19,000) given to a film or an individual. The award will be given to the director of the film incase a film wins the award.

- Best Actor (Male) – “Vahid Mobasheri” for Film “No End”.
- Best Actor (Female) – “Daniela Marin Navarro” for Film “I Have Electric Dreams”.
- Best Director – “Nader Saeivar” for Film “No End”
- Best Debut Feature Film Of A Director –“ Asimina Proedrou” for “Behind the Haystacks”
- Special Jury Award – “Lav Diaz”(Filipino filmmaker) for Film “When The Waves Are Gone”
- Special Mention To A Debut Feature Film Of A Director –“ Praveen Kandregula” for Cinema Bandi
- ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal – “Payam Eskandar” for Nargesi
- Indian Film Personality of the Year – Chiranjeevi (India)
- IFFI Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award-Carlos Saura (Spain)
