DSLR Full Form

DSLR- Digital Single Lens Reflex. The  DSLR stands for Digital Single Lens Reflex. Now DSLR Camera to a great extent replaced the film-based SLRs during the year 2000. In DSLR camera uses digital sensors while in SLR uses film. That is why DSLR is the favorite camera among many photographers.

DSLR cameras perform best images but their cost is very high.

DSLR’s are the combination of an SLR(single-lens reflex camera) and a digital camera back, which replaces the photographic film.

It has Optical Viewfinder, so it uses a mirror to direct the light from the lens to viewfinder. The viewfinder presents on the back of the camera and used to preview the image before you capture it. DSLR camera comes with interchangeable lenses.

D-Digital:

In DSLR, the letter ‘D’ stands for digital. A DSLR camera has digital image sensor which works is when the shutter opens, the sensor captures the photons that hit it and that is converted to an electrical signal that the processor in the camera reads and interprets as colors. This information is then stitched together to form an image.

S-Single Lens:

The DSLR camera uses only one single lens for taking photographs as well as to show an accurate representation of the forthcoming image on the viewfinder. This lens is used for both the optical viewfinder and the digital image sensor to capture an image.

It has Auto-focusing, light metering functions.

R-Reflex:

A digital single-lens reflex in DSLR camera is interchangeable lenses and a mirror that directs light from the lens to the viewfinder, which enables the user to see exactly what the lens sees, resulting in a natural image.

In DSLR light entering through the lens for both the viewfinder and the imaging sensor. place a mirror in front of the digital sensor at 45 degrees and directing the light up towards a pentaprism and out of the optical viewfinder.
