Inter-Services Intelligence (in Pakisthan)

  • It is the premier intelligence agency of the Pakistan Government which works for gathering, processing, and analyzing national security information from around the world.
  • It has been headed by a three-star general of the Pakistan Army, who is appointed by the Prime Minister on the recommendation of the Chief of Army Staff.
  • Now ISI headed by Lieutenant-General Faiz Hameed, who was appointed Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence on 17 June 2019. The Director-General of ISI reports directly to both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief.
