  • Gujarat CM announces Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana for small shop keepers and self-employed hit by the lockdown. Under the scheme, one lakh rupees collateral-free loan will be given at two percent for the beneficiaries for three years.
  • Delhi Police Commissioner launches initiative Ayuraksha- ‘Corona se Jung – Delhi Police ke sang’ joint initiative by Delhi Police and All India Institute of Ayurveda, Ministry of AYUSH.   • NITI Aayog starts the campaign ‘Surakshit Dada-Dadi& Nana-NaniAbhiyan’ to protect senior citizens during COVID-19.
  • A programme “Mukhya Mantri Shahari Rojgar Guarantee Yojna” launched by the Himachal Pradesh government guaranteeing at least 120 days’ employment to those living in urban areas.
  • Under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, the Jharkhand government launched three schemes to “revive the rural economy”, affected by the lockdown in view of COVID-19 pandemic. The three schemes are Birsa Harit Gram Yojana for rural plantations, Neelambar Pitambar JAL Sammridhi Yojana for water conservation, and the Poto Ho Khel Vikas Scheme for making playgrounds.

  • SBI cuts benchmark lending rate by 15 basis points and introduced the Special Deposit Scheme for senior citizens with a higher interest rate. With that, the marginal cost of funds based lending rate comes down to 7.25 percent, from 7.40 percent with effect from the 10th of May.
