Dear Aspirants, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for Combined Higher Secondary (CHSL), 2018 examination on 5 March 2019. This year, a total of 3259 vacancies will be recruited for the post of Data Entry Operator, Lower Division Clerk and Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants (PA/SA), and Others in Central Government Ministries and Departments. Candidates who were waiting for the SSC CHSL Notification 2019 can apply online for SSC CHSL.

SSC CHSL 2019 Vacancies

The tentative vacancies in SSC CHSL 2019 for the posts namely, LDC, PA/SA, and DEO counts up to 3259.

  • Lower Divisional Clerk: 898 vacancies
  • Postal Assistant: 2359 vacancies
  • Data Entry Operator: 2 vacancies

Pay Scale of the Posts:

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Grade Pay: Rs. 1900 and Pay Band rs 5200-20200
  • Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA): Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 and Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200)
  • Data Entry Operator(DEO): Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 and Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), 
  • Data Entry Operator Grade ‘A’: Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 and Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200)

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CHSL 2019

Educational Qualification

Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Age Limit

18-27 years (As on 1st August 2019)

Application fee:

For UR: Rs.100/-

For Women, SC/ST, Persons with disability and Ex-servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of the fee.

Tier 1: Computer-Based Written Exam (Objective Type)

Tier 2: Written Exam (Descriptive Paper)

Tier 3: Typing Test/Skill Test

Tier 3: Typing Test/Skill Test

This Test will be of qualifying nature for selection.

Typing Test: Typing test will be required for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC, and Court Clerk posts. For English, typing speed of 35 words per minute is required. For Hindi typing speed of 30 words per minute.

Skill Test: Skill test is conducted for Data Entry Operator post. Data Entry Speed on the computer is 8,000 key depressions per hour. For the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India ,The speed  on Computer is 15000 key depressions per hour.

Duration of the test is 15 minutes.
